A) Printers

1. Star TSP100 LAN

1.1 Connecting Star TSP100 LAN Printer to Tablet

  1. On the back of the printer, input the printer power source cord into the leftmost plug-in and plug it into to an outlet.
  2. Input the ethernet router into the rightmost plug-in on the back of the printer.
  3. Turn printer on by pushing down the "l" on the side of the printer.
  4. Connect tablet to same wifi network as ethernet router that the printer is connected to.

1.2 Setting Up Star TSP100 LAN As Receipt and Kitchen Printer

  1. Log in to eHopper POS
  2. In the left navigation menu, tap on Settings--->Printer Setup
  3. On Printer Settings screen, tap Search for printer on the top right. 
  4. The Star TSP100 LAN printer should show up under both Receipt Printers and Kitchen Printers. Check off the box(es) of whichever one(s) you would like to set up your printer to print.
  5. Choose either 80mm or 58mm as the paper width for both printer types.
  6. The option Print Test Page will appear to the right of the printer. Tap it to print a test page to ensure that the printer is set up properly.
  7. Confirm your printer settings by tapping the DONE button. The printer should now be set up to work on your tablet. 

2. Star Bluetooth Portable Printer SM-T300

2.1 Connecting Star Bluetooth Portable Printer SM-T300

  1. Switch printer on by pressing the Power button.
  2. Go to Settings on tablet and switch Bluetooth ON.
  3. Scan Bluetooth devices and select Star Bluetooth Portable Printer SM-T300 to pair with tablet device.

2.2 Setting up Star Bluetooth Portable Printer SM-T300

If printing the test page was unsuccessful:

  • Re-initialize your printer (instructions below)
  • Reconnect the printer (refer to Section 2.1 - Connecting Star Bluetooth Portable Printer SM-T300)
  • Perform all the steps listed in Section 1.2, except Star Bluetooth SM-T300 should be selected as printer after click Search for printer.

Re-Initialization of Printer

To initialize the memory switch settings:

  • Turn on the printer and open the printer cover.
  • Press and hold the Power and Feed buttons simultaneously until the Error lamp flashes five times. Once both the Power light and Error light flash, the memory initialization has been completed.
  • Input paper inside of the printer and then close the printer cover.
  • The printer should print out "Memory SW was initialized” to confirm the initialization was successful.

3. Star Bluetooth TSP650II

3.1 Connecting Star Bluetooth TSP650II

  1. Switch printer on.
  2. Open Bluetooth Settings on tablet.
  3. Press on Pair button on back panel of printer.
  4. After green indicator starts to blink scan for Bluetooth devices in tablet settings.
  5. Select to pair tablet with Star Bluetooth TSP650II.

3.2 Setting up Star Bluetooth TSP650II

  1. Log in to eHopper POS
  2. In the left navigation menu, tap on Settings--->Printer Setup
  3. On Printer Settings screen, tap Search for printer on the top right. 
  4.  The Star Bluetooth TSP650II printer should show up under both Receipt Printers and Kitchen Printers. Check off the box(es) of whichever one(s) you would like to set up your printer to print.
  5. Choose either 80mm or 58mm as the paper width for both printer types.
  6. The option Print Test Page will appear to the right of the printer. Tap it to print a test page to ensure that the printer is set up properly.

B) Cash Drawers

4. Cash Drawer MS CF-405 W/Media Slots

4.1 Connecting Cash Drawer MS CF-405

Note: Printer must be turned on and properly set up. 

  1. Connect cash drawer to the Star Printer via RJ12 connector. (Can connect drawer to either Star TSP100 LAN or Star Bluetooth TSP650II printer). 
  2. Cash drawer is ready to operate.

4.2 Cash Drawer MS CF-405 

1. Log in to eHopper POS

2. In the left navigation menu, tap on Settings--->Cash Drawer

3. Tap Search for cash drawer.

4. In list of printers that appear, select printer that cash drawer is connected to.

5. Tap Test link to the right of the selected printer. If drawer opens, it is properly set up.

6. Confirm cash drawer settings by tapping DONE.

7. Cash drawer is ready for usage in application.

 

C) Socket Mobile Devices

5. Socket Mobile 2D scanner

  1. Install SocketScan 10 application on device.
  2. Unpair the scanner and device.
    • To do this press simultaneously on/off button and scan button on scanner.
    • There should be an unpair beep.
  3. Turn scanner off and then back on.
  4. Go to Settings on device.
  5. Switch Bluetooth on in Settings.
  6. In Settings, go to Controls--->Language and input.
  7. Turn on the SocketScan 10 device.
  8. Set Default Keyboards and Input Methods as SocketScan 10 by checking off the box.
  9. Open the SocketScan 10 application on device.
  10. Tap on button in right bottom corner.
  11. Select Socket EZ Pair on bottom of screen.
  12. Tap On screen button.
  13. Tap 2D Scanner button.
  14. Scan 2D barcode with 2D scanner by following the steps in the screenshot below. 
  15. In the Bluetooth pairing request popup, tap OK to pair Socket 10 with device.
  16. It should now say scanner connected in the left upper corner of device
  17. On tablet, go to Settings--->Controls--->Language & input.
  18. Uncheck SocketScan 10 in the Keyboards and Input Methods section.

    19. Add bar code for product in Back Office by going to Settings--->Inventory--->Products, select the product and enter the code in the UPC field. 

    20. Log in to POS and sync your data.

    21. Scan the bar code of the product and the product should automatically appear in the shopping cart, with the bar code appearing in the Search for product field.

6. Socket Mobile 1D Scanner

  1. Follow steps 1-13 as described in section 5. - ‘Initializing Socket Mobile 2D Scanner’.
  2. Tap 1D Scanner button.
  3. Tap Scan 1D barcode with 1D scanner.
  4. Follow steps 16-21 as described in section 5. - Initializing Socket Mobile 2D scanner.

 

D) Card Readers

7. IDTech Unimag Pro Headphone Jack

  1. Check that the audio volume on iPad is set on maximum value.
  2. Insert IDTech Unimag Pro into the Headphone Jack of the device.
  3. Card reader is ready to work.

Note: In case card reader doesn’t read the card, logout and login to eHopper.

8. IDTech Shuttle Headphone Jack

  1. Check that the audio volume on tablet is set on maximum value.
  2. Insert IDTech Shuttle into the Headphone Jack of the device.
  3. Card reader is ready to work.

Note: In case card reader doesn’t read the card, logout and login to eHopper.

9. DEFTUN MSR90 USB Magnetic Card Reader

  1. Connect DEFTUN MSR90 to hub via the USB cable.
  2. Card reader is ready to work.

Note: In case card reader doesn’t read the card, logout and login to eHopper.

10. MAGTEK Dynamag USB Powered

  1. Connect MAGTEK Dynamag to hub via the USB cable.
  2. Card reader is ready to work.
